Searching BumperBrain

You can use the Search tool to search all of BumperBrain's libraries, experts and categories. Simply enter some search text describing what it is you are looking for, check the appropriate box to search by category or expert, or to search one of the BumperBrain libraries, and then click on the Search button.

When searching one of the BumperBrain libraries, the title of all potentially relevant questions or documents will be displayed. You can click on the title for further details, at which point you will be able to buy that document or the answer to that question from the library; if only a single document or question matched, full details will be shown immediately so there will be no need to click on the title.

When searching categories, a list of all the relevant categories will be displayed. To go to a category in the hierarchy browser, click on the category title. If just one category is relevant to your search, then you will be brought straight to that category in the hierarchy.

When searching experts, a list of all relevant experts will be displayed. The experts will be identified by their membership number and, where they have chosen one, their public name. However if just one expert matched your search, you will be taken straight to their full details.

For each expert, their Brief Profile - a brief description of the expert, their achievements, their skills and their experience - and ratings will be displayed.

If you are logged in, you can click on the icon to ask an expert a question. Alternatively you can send an expert a message by clicking on the icon, or (when available) you can request a live consultation with an expert by clicking on the icon. To see an expert's full details, click on the expert's membership number/public name.

There are other symbols that provide additional information: the icon indicates that the expert is currently logged in; the icon indicates that the expert is one of your favourite experts; the icon indicates that the expert is on your list of least favourite experts.
