In order to answer questions you must become an expert if you're not already one. Becoming an expert couldn't be easier: simply fill out the appropriate fields in the Expert Details section of the Settings pages.

The precise layout of the page will depend on whether your browser supports JavaScript. Normally however, the Title of the question will appear at the top right of the window. Below this is the Question Category, the Inquisitor, and the Question Details. If you are logged in, you can send a message directly to the inquisitor by clicking on the icon and you may also be able to suggest that the question be re-posted under a different category by clicking on the icon. The paragraph below the question details will tell you what type of question it is, and whether it should be answered with a live consultation.

Questions can be split into five broad types:

1. Questions where the first answer will be accepted. To answer the question, click on the Answer button.
2. Questions where the inquisitor wishes to review experts. To indicate your willingness to answer the question, click on the I can answer it! button.
3. Questions where the expert wishes to review answers. To submit an answer, click on the Answer button.
4. Questions where experts are invited to offer a quote to answer a question. To submit a quote click on the Submit Quote button.
5. The icon in the question list indicates that the question has been specifically directed at you. Click on the Answer button to answer the question.
