In the upper section of your personal preferences you have a number of choices. You can indicate that you want to be transferred to My Brain as soon as you login - this will allow you to immediately see whether your questions have received any responses or whether there are questions in your area(s) of expertise. You can decide whether you want us to send you occasional news and offers. Finally you can indicate whether you want us to contact you by email.

Secondly, you will have choices regarding how you want to be contacted when someone has responded to your question or when questions are posted in your area(s) of expertise. BumperBrain allows you to be alerted using E-Mail, the BumperBrain Messaging System, or both. Note that if you have chosen not to be contacted by email in the previous section, you will not be able to choose the "E-Mail" or "Both" options.

The middle section lists your Question Preferences. These options are the same as those that appear in Ask an Expert and Ask a Technician. To speed up the process you can set your default options in this section. Note that if you choose to restrict full details of your questions to eligible experts, this restriction does not apply once they have been answered and added to the BumperBrain Library of Questions. In addition you can indicate whether you want to confirm these options every time you ask a question by clicking on the checkbox alongside each option. Your favourite and least favourite experts are listed in the lowermost section of the page. The public identifier are displayed for each expert. You can see full details of an expert by clicking on the membership number/public name. You can remove an expert from either of these lists by clicking on the Remove checkbox alongside each expert and then clicking on the Update button.
