The BumperBrain Messaging System
The BumperBrain Messaging System is designed so that you can be notified of events whilst ensuring the privacy and integrity of your email address.
As soon as you become a member you can start sending and receiving messages. To use the messaging system all you have to do is click on the Messages button at the top of each page. For convenience, the icon will be displayed next to the Messages button if you have any new messages.
The messaging system is split into three sections: "New Messages", "Old Messages" and "Send Message". You can toggle between these by clicking on the appropriate icon in the menu - the icon for "New Messages", the icon for "Old Messages" and the icon for "Send Message".
All new or unread messages will be displayed in the New Messages section. A list of your messages will be shown - to read a message, click on the subject line.
The full text of the message will then be shown; if this message is a reply to a previous message, the original message will appear at the bottom of the page. At this stage you can either choose not to reply, by clicking on the No Reply button, or reply by clicking on the Reply button. Note that a message will remain in your New Messages until you have replied to it or specifically chosen not to reply.
Messages that have been read will be transferred to your Old Messages. To read the message, click on the subject line. Once again you can click on the Reply button to reply to the message. Alternatively you can delete the message by clicking on the Delete button.
You can click on the icon to send a message to the BumperBrain Administrator. Simply fill in the Subject and Message Text fields and click on the Send button.
To send messages to other people, you have to click on the icon in any of the relevant pages (e.g. you can send an expert a message when viewing their details, etc.). Alternatively, if another person has sent you a message, you can send one back by clicking on the Reply button in the full message details.
