Uploading Attachments
When you are posting a question up on the system, you may sometimes find that text alone is not adequate to describe the problem you are looking for an answer to. It may be that there is a document or file that you need an expert to review and comment on, or perhaps you have a document to further illustrate the problem your question is about.
Similarly when you are submitting an answer to a posted question, you may sometimes find that more than just straight text is needed to give a thorough and complete answer. It may be that there is a document or file that is the very essence of your solution, maybe you have made some changes to a document that the inquisitor attached to their question, or perhaps you have a document or file that illustrates your solution better than text alone ever could.
In these instances, you can click on the icon to attach a document or file to your question/answer. The attached files can then be downloaded by the expert/inquisitor whenever the text of your question/answer is viewed; where possible attachments will be downloaded with the same name as they have on your local computer system, so you should always refer to them by that name.
If your browser does not support JavaScript, then the aforementioned paper-clip icon will not be available. Instead there will be a checkbox for you to tick when entering your question/answer, and we will then prompt you to upload your attachments after you have entered the text of your question/answer; note that when asking a question you may need to click on the Show Options button to see the checkbox you need to tick.
To attach a file, follow the simple on-screen instructions to select and upload the file from your local computer system. You can upload as many files as is appropriate and required, and if you inadvertently upload the wrong file then you can remove an attachment by ticking the relevant checkbox and clicking the "Remove" button. Be sure to always click on the Done button when you are finished uploading files to attach to your question/answer.
When attaching files to a question you are posting on the system, there will be an additional checkbox you can tick to indicate that a particular document should be made searchable (that is, in addition to the question text) if the question is added to the BumperBrain Library of Questions. Please note that only one document is allowed to be made searchable for any one question, and if you want to change the document to be made searchable you will need to remove the document currently indicated as being searchable first (you can always upload it again if you still want it as an attachment).
