Ask A Technician
If you have any queries concerning your computer system or how to use it, you can Ask a Technician. This service is provided as a cheaper and more efficient alternative to services based on expensive premium-rate telephone numbers.
You can either pay for help, or you can ask for free technical support by simply saying that you are prepared to pay £0 for an answer to your question. However, you are likely to get more responses to your question if you are prepared to pay for an answer to it.
The very first time you ask a question, you must first read and agree to our terms and conditions for inquisitors - be sure that you have fully read and understood our terms before proceeding.
Before asking a technician a question you should specify the details of your system in the Computer Details section of the Settings menu. Then, when you ask a question, the technician will be able to see not only the details of your question but also all the details of your system. This makes it easier to identify any system-related faults and enable a solution.
If you have chosen to confirm your computer details each time you ask a technician a qeustion, your details will be shown at the bottom of the Ask a Technician page. If you do not want to confirm your details each time you ask a question, uncheck the box in the Computer Details page.
Asking a technician a question is much like asking an expert a question, and all the same question options apply. For obvious reasons however, not all categories in the hierarchy are relevant.
We are constantly updating our services. In the future, Ask a Technician may allow you to grant remote control of your computer to an expert, allowing the expert to connect to your computer and fix it online. We will alert you in one of our newsletters when such features are added.
