Your Areas of Expertise are the categories in the hierarchy in which you are an expert. By selecting a category as an area of expertise, you will be able to answer questions asked in that category.

To define a new area of expertise, click on the link near the bottom of the page to browse through the hierarchy in the normal way. When you have found the category in which you have expertise, tick the "Declare Expertise In This Category?" checkbox and then click on the Update button.

You can delete an area of expertise by checking the "Delete" checkbox and then clicking on the Update button.

Once you have selected your areas of expertise, for security reasons, they are subject to approval. Alongside each area of expertise, an icon will indicate whether it has been Approved or whether it is still Awaiting Approval.

The BumperBrain staff approve areas of expertise almost immediately, so it will not be long before you can start answering questions.
