Linking Library Entries

The BumperBrain Libraries are an archive of documents and questions (with answers), and are therefore an invaluable reference tool offering solutions to the more common problems.

Sometimes, while browsing documents and answers in the library, you may enounter information that is related to other information you have come across in the library (perhaps even the other information is an answer you have submitted or a document you have uploaded).

In this case, it may be appropriate to link the two pieces of information so that in future you can get from one to the other with a single click; to create that link, select the "I would like to link this ..." option in the drop-down listbox while viewing or previewing the document or answer to link from.

Select the information that you think it would be appropriate to link to, and indicate the sort of link you would like to create; a "normal" link is a link from the information you were viewing to the information you selected, a "reverse" link is a link from the information you selected back to the information you were viewing and a "reciprocal" link is both of these and thus links each piece of information to the other.

When selecting the information you want to link to, click on the various tabs to list linkable information from different sources. The tab lists any questions and documents that you have recently viewed. The tab lists information that you have rated (not necessarily in the current session). The tab lists questions that you have asked and that are now in the BumperBrain Library of Questions. The tab lists questions you have answered and documents that you have uploaded to the BumperBrain Document Library. The tab will search for and list any questions and documents that appear to be similar to the information you are linking from.
